WHEN I LOOK TO THE SKY

When it rains it pours and opens doors
And floods the floors we thought would always keep us safe and dry
And in the midst of sailing ships we sink our lips into the ones we love
That have to say goodbye

[Chorus:]
And as I float along this ocean
I can feel you like a notion that won't seem to let me go

Cause when I look to the sky something tells me you're here with me
And you make everything alright
And when I feel like I'm lost something tells me you're here with me
And I can always find my way when you are here

[Verse 2]
And every word I didn't say that caught up in some busy day
And every dance on the kitchen floor we didn't have before
And every sunset that we'll miss I'll wrap them all up in a kiss
And pick you up in all of this when I sail away

[Chorus:]
And as I float along this ocean
I can feel you like a notion that I hope will never leave

[Verse 3]
Whether I am up or down or in or out or just plane overhead
Instead it just feels like it is impossible to fly
But with you I can spread my wings
to see me over everything that life may send me
When I am hoping it won't pass me by

And when I feel like there is no one that will ever know me
there you are to show me

Cause when I look to the sky something tells me you're here with me
And you make everything alright
And when I feel like I'm lost something tells me you're here with me
And I can always find my way when you are here [X2]

I am thankful for...

My family. We had Thanksgiving at our house this year. It was...well, civilized is how I have been putting it. No one got into any arguments and everyone, I think, enjoyed themselves. This is what the family has dwindled too. Everyone in my family is in this picture except for those who are dead or incarcerated. It's quite sad, now that I am really thinking about it. Thank goodness for love and marriage! Back Row L to R: Dave, John, Vivian, Floyd and Billy. Front Row L to R: April, Mom, Tiffney and Jaclyn. Not pictured: Jerry and Angie.

Tommy

Tommy is the newest addition to the family. We rescued him from a shelter just north of us. We adopted him November 17th and was able to bring him home November 20th. He is a cocker spaniel with possibly some poodle. They say he is about 4 years old. Tommy has got to be the cutest dog there is! He loves to get all the attention and is quite the cuddler. He loves to give lots and lots of kisses. I named him Tommy after a long week of trying to find the right one.

In loving memory

This picture looks angelic. Riley fell ill fast and had to be sent to doggie heaven on Tuesday night 11-11-08. He was the best dog I have ever seen. He was beautiful, obedient and lovable. He was Dave's best buddy and my favorite too. We love him so much and miss him dearly. Riley was 13 years old and has always been by Dave's side or sitting on Dave's lap. Go get the birds, buddy!

Fishing @ Grantsville

Riley and Lexi were having fun playing together at Grantsville Res. The only thing they hated was being tied up (I wouldn't have been able to get such a good picture otherwise)

Fishing at Grantsvillle

Dave, Greg, Nancy and Gary working on the fish that Gary just caught at Grantsville.

Fishing at Grantsville.

One minute it was cold, the next the sun came out and it felt nice, after that it was freezing. I couldn't decide if I was taking off my jacket or putting on two coats, a blanket, two hats and gloves!

Fishing at Grantsville

Nancy, her dad, her friend Greg, Dave and I went fishing for a few hours after the big two day storm over the weekend. They caught a few fish. I didn't catch any, one got almost to the shore then snatched the hook.

Haven

JJ's newest addition

J.J. had a baby girl named Haven on Monday the 8th. She's so pretty! They should have named her Heaven because she looks like she just fell from Heaven!

Chris Cagle Concert

Chris Cagle was a blast and emotional, like all country music gets me! We sat far away from the stage until the encore when I was able to get to the second row and take really good pictures! He signed a couple of t-shirts and threw the first one at me! The wind made it blow over a little but in the right direction because Dave was able to catch it! He put on a great show and he also showed us that he won't take any crap from people. He was singing "Miss Me Baby" and earlier in the show he asked this lady to quit video taping because that was against his organization's policy. She kept doing it and in the middle of his song he went into the crowd and grabbed a security officer and took him straight to the lady with the video camera and she was escorted. Then when he got back on stage the song was almost over but he decided to replay the song! It's moments like these that make going to a concert feel that much real and shows us that singers are people too.

State Fair

9-8-08 We all had so much fun at the Utah State Fair. Colette and I made sure we took advantage of a free concert with an amazing country artist, Chris Cagle!

Birthday BBQ

9-5-08 Floyd's Birthday. I invited the whole fandamily over to our house for a BBQ. It was so much fun and everyone always had a smile on their faces! This is a photo I was able to get with my new digital camera mounted on the fridge door that was open with the deep fryer as a stopper to hold the door open! Clever? Or Genius? Happy Birthday Floyd.

Just the girls!

Just us girls! I don't know the last time we were able to get pictures together! We all have long beautiful hair and you can totally tell that we are related! This photo will go in my most cherished collection.

Family shot!

Jaclyn, me, Mom and Billy posing for a family picture. I guess Mom thought it was a photo shoot for models! Even though she would totally sell pictures!

Funny sis!

Jaclyn and Floyd are having a blast at Floyd's birthday BBQ at my house! Everyone had a great time and I was able to try out my new digital camera on family pictures. This was one of them!

Lovable Lexi

Lexi is our new addition to the Pollett family. She is a German Wire-haired Pointer and we rescued her from the pound. She's around 3 or 4 years and is quite a pill. Her loving and cuddly nature makes it tough to stay mad at her when she's been bad.

Patiently waiting for Dave

Riley is the oldest of our two dogs. He is around 13 years. I've never seen him like this! He was waiting for Dave to go for a ride, which he usually stays in the truck to make sure Dave doesn't forget him!
